Know exactly when every SMS is delivered — directly inside your CRM timeline. Status updates, history filters, cost tracking, and dual-provider reliability all in one place.
Every SMS follows a defined lifecycle from the moment it leaves SendSMS to its final state on the recipient's device.
The SMS has been accepted by the carrier network and it's in transit to the destination phone number. This status appears immediately after dispatch and typically transitions to Delivered within seconds for active phones on good network coverage. For phones that are off or out of range, the message waits in the carrier's queue for up to 48 hours. We check every 15 seconds and update the status the moment it changes.
The carrier has confirmed the SMS was successfully received by the destination handset. Not from us — from the actual telco that delivered it. That's the strongest positive signal available. Delivered status confirms receipt at the network level; it doesn't indicate whether the recipient has read the message, only that it arrived on their device.
The carrier returned an error indicating the message couldn't be delivered. Common causes include an invalid or non-existent phone number, a number from a different country than expected, a deactivated number, or carrier-level content filtering. Failed messages are flagged in the CRM timeline so your team can investigate and follow up through an alternative channel. Don't ignore these — they often signal a data quality issue worth fixing.
SMS messages are held in the carrier queue for a maximum validity period — typically 48 hours. If the destination phone remains off, unreachable, or without network coverage for the entire window, the message expires and is never delivered. Expired messages indicate the recipient was genuinely unreachable at send time, not that the message was rejected. It's a useful distinction when deciding your follow-up strategy.
Full financial visibility on every message sent. Know exactly what you're spending and why.
Every SMS sent through SendSMS has a precise credit cost based on the destination country and the message length. This cost's displayed before sending — no surprises. For bulk campaigns, you see the estimated total cost before launching, so you can budget accurately and avoid credit shortfalls mid-send.
In the SMS History, each message row shows the exact credit amount deducted for that send. That granularity lets you calculate the true cost-per-contact for any campaign and compare it against the revenue generated from that segment. For finance teams, the export feature makes monthly SMS cost reporting straightforward. They'll appreciate having real numbers rather than estimates.
Credit's deducted only when a message is successfully dispatched to the carrier. Messages that fail at the SendSMS level before reaching the carrier — for example, due to an invalid number format — aren't charged. You pay only for genuine delivery attempts. That's how it should work.
SendSMS uses two independent carrier networks to route every message via the lowest-cost, highest-reliability path.
SendSMS operates with two independent SMS gateway providers simultaneously: Nobel and sendsms.ro. For every outgoing message, the routing engine compares real-time rates and historical delivery performance for the specific destination country and network, then dispatches through the provider offering the best combination of cost and reliability.
Here's the real advantage: if one provider has a network issue, elevated failure rates, or a temporary disruption for a specific carrier, the routing engine automatically shifts traffic to the alternative provider. Your messages keep delivering without interruption, even during provider-side incidents. We've had this failover save campaigns more than once.
Delivery webhooks from both providers feed into the same unified status tracking system. Regardless of which provider handled the delivery, the status update appears in your CRM timeline with a consistent format. Your team sees a single, clean delivery record — they don't need to know or care which provider was used for any given message.
Rate data from both providers is refreshed regularly, so the routing engine's always working with current pricing. That's what allows SendSMS to offer competitive rates across 219 countries while keeping delivery rates high.
